HP DV9225 MB 441534-001

One of my NB’s died over the weekend; not that it was unexpected as the 9000 series computers had numerous problems. HP, of course, no help – 60 days out of warranty and refusing to honor the recall and refused to elevate the matter.

Power switch pressed, light come on and shut off before post, usually within 1 sec. PS known to be good (works on another computer), RAM known to be good (same reason), CPU known to be good (same reason).

I have been able to trace the 441534-001 MB problems to either a tin whisker or cracked solder joint problem, but cannot find specifics.

Does anyone know more about the issue. Google is not my friend in this matter.
