HP Laserjet 4m plus and Windows XP

I am trying to run a Hewlett Packard Laserjet 4M Plus with Windows XP. As soon as I plug in the printer is regognised but, after having tried all troubleshooting tips, I cannot get the printer to print. Can anyone help? Please.
