hp photosmart C3100 wont print correctly

my hp c3100 only prints these strange characters and no txt…at least not in a way that makes sense…i feel like i changed some setting somewhere a while back and i can’t figure out how to bring it back to the defaut setting…it also wont make copies either, and the ink cartridges are basically new…any ideas? i’m working on a mac mini…
