Hp Scanner

How would a person go about setting either an HP parallel port scanner or parallel port cd burner to look for lpt2. I installed a boca i/oat55 serial parallel port adapter card in the pc to hook the second parallel device to because daisy chaining them did not work, (second device never found). Any way now how do I get either the burner or the scanner to look on lpt2 for the device?
