HP670c Printer Problem

When I try to print a document, the paper goes inside the printer, but stopped before any printing is done. Sometimes, the page is just half printed. Then a message appears on the screen: Lost communication with computer.
I have checked my cable onother printer, it works fine. The most annoying part is that, my printer turns alright some time after it fails to do the previous printing job.
Can somebody help me to solve the problem?
