Hyper-V / SVCMM

Hey folks,

I have a Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 server being managed from SCVMM that is a VM inside of VMware server (not ESX). Well the physical server that was run VMware has started acting up, and will not run my SCVMM VM anymore I do have a backup of it.

My question how can I get this SCVMM VM converted and running in hyper-v without the use of SCVMM. I have ZERO powershell experience.

I was thinking of Reinstalling Server 2008 R2 back onto the box with a new install of SCVMM server and recreate a new database, but will that actually work. I’m thinking I need the original SCVMM database.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
