Hyperterminal problems with Cisco 3560G and Vista

I am forced at the moment to use Vista to hyperterminal into some cisco switches, but having to use first a USB-Serial adapter and Hilgraeve software, I can access the switches just fine, but I seem to have all kinds of issues. For example, when I type the commands to rename the flash files it asks me for the destination after I’ve already given it in the command string.

Has anyone seen this problem? Is it the fact I’m using Vista, or Vista in combination with a USB-Serial converter?
