I have problem with my Canon MP240 series Printer?

I have Canon MP240 series Printer my color cartidge is emty and I dont want to refill it, I just refilled black one, now it can not print with only black, it giving me this error message color cartidge is run out. I know that is emty I dont want to refill it. I went to the setting of the printer and set to only print in black, but I am still getting the same error. Can someone help please?
