I need help for my internet !!

I just wanted to test out wireless on my linksys and my model is wrt54g and I connect to my cable modem and now I can’t connect to the internet now and I don’t know how to fix it. I think my internet is on wireless and how do I change it back to my cable modem. It was working fine before I changed it.
