I need help with a USB Scanner install

I am attempting to install a HP Scanjet scanner (C6270A) on a W98SR2 PC using the USB port on the PC.
Naturally I can’t find documentation on this. Information on connections via a SCSI port is available. The HP web site doesn’t even recognize themodel. It took some digging to discover that I can use the 6200 series drivers.
Someone point me in a direction please. What steps are needed for USB installation?
