This server was our PDC, NT4.0. It crashed and we had to switch over to the backup. I am trying to install a new hard drive, Seagate, in the computer. I suspect that the orginal hard drive is defective. I completed the IBM server set up guide and installed NT4.0. I also installed NT Server without the IBM server guide and got the same results. When I reboot the BIOS does not complete, it end up locked up with the letters “LI” displayed on the monitor. Yes we are upgrading to Windows 2003, but before I perform the migration I need to get a back-up of the current domain controller up on the system. Currently right now we do not have a BDC. I know that is wrong but right now I need to get the new hard drive working and installed before something goes wrong with the PDC. I also have a new update for the BIOS but the instructions for extacting the exe from IBM is missing.
