IBM Netvista 6269 will not remote boot

by mniedziela . Updated 24 years, 2 months ago

I have been using Windows 2000 RIS on my IBM Netvista clients. Model Netvista 6269 will not, however boot from the network. With PXE enabled in the BIOS, the users is prompted to press [F12] during bootup, yet the client never enters the RIS loginscreen. When trying to boot with the RBFG.EXE generated floppy, the screen says my NIC is not supported. Could it be because this model of Netvista shipped with the Accton EN1207D (SMC 1211TX) network adapter rather than the Intel pro100 that I can not get RIS to work? RIS works fine on other (older) Netvista computers as well as other makes and models of older computers.
