Hello all, here is the situation.
I have an IBM Thinkpad i-series 1460 I bought it from a guy a while ago and haven’t really paid too much attention to it. It was using windows 98 with no problems at all. Now I want to put Windows XP on it. I gave it to my friend and he attempted to put WIN/XP on it and what happened was a dual boot machine, now it will boot into either WIN 98 or WIN/XP, however and here is the tricky part, now I want to redo the drive because I am not satisfied with the setup and it won’t let me. When I turn on the machine it immediately goes to the boot selection, skip over the traditional boot, (eg: ram check and POST, IBM screen etc) even if I am able to get to the CMOS settings to change the boot sequence to “A:, CD-ROM, Hard drive” it will still only go to the hard drive and give me the choice of WIN 98 or WIN XP. I have exhausted all my knowledge of the situation and IBM is useless. This would appear to be my last resort. The laptop works fine as far as I can tell except for the whole boot thing any help would be greatly appreciated.
