ICANN set to allow non latin domain names

While I think this is a great idea, I wonder if this will not fragment and segregate the global reach of the Internet into regional areas where Chinese sites with Chinese names can’t be visited by computers that can’t create chinese characters. Or Greek, Arabic, Japanese, Hindu or even Egyptian Hierogliphs.

While ICANN says they have translations programs, imo the global reach of the internet will end up being regional by language.
