I.E 6 needs a Refresh at first?!?!?

I am running Win XP Pro on a Novell Network with I.E version 6, I connect to the Internet via a Proxy which requires my authentication, once I authenticate I get a “page cannot be displyed”, screen. I need to refresh to view the page. Any idea’s on how to rectify this???
