IE Display and Colors

A very odd thing happened to my internet explorer. The display is all messed up.

1. On web pages with background wallpaper, all I see is white.
2. Instead of formatting a page to fit the window, on many sites text piles on top of other text if the windows is not maximized.

I have the desktop scheme set to “Windows Standard” and under Internet Options I have the colors set to Windows colors.

Any help would be appreciated. The biggest problem is that I need to check Microsoft’s support site a lot and when I go to the knowledge base to do a search I don’t see anything. I see the titles but I can’t see any of the drop-down’s or text boxes to enter my search criteria.
