Because of the reduced IT staff at my company we’ve been thinking of implementing TightVNC to support users remotely. There are only 2 IT People and we support over 50 not so-tech-savvy users.
From discussions with users on if they would find remote assistance useful, many are skeptic about the idea noting that its an IT big-brother tool. Things like “You can view my desktop without my knowledge..” are said.
I noticed with TightVNC you can configure the TightVNC server to query the user for a connection, but to the users, there’s a general feeling of somebody watching them.
What is your experience with this issue? How would you tackle it tactically?
