IN EXTREME NEED OF HELP-VPN WIN95

by bernwafer . Updated 25 years, 8 months ago

This is actually a followup to Maria’s VPN Cable modem connection. Here is my dilema!I’m trying to connect my Win95 to my work network with vpn. I was able to connect to the network, but I wasn’t able to see any computers except for one, which I believe, was my own Win95 computer (at home). I am dialing up through a cable modem.

I read about Maria’s problem. it was suggested that I try installing Clients for Networks on the Network configuration in Control Panel. I did this and when rebooting I got this message: “Registry Problem: Windows encountered an error accessing the system registry you should restore the registry now and restart your computer. If you ignore this error and shut down your system, you may lose data. Restoring the registry will replace the faulty registry with a known good backup copy. However, this backup copy may not contain all the information recently added to your system.” “Restore From Backup and Restart?” button at the bottom.

I restore from back up and then it asks me if i want to restart now, when I choose yes, I go through the whole thing again, and it doesn’t do anything different, when I choose that I don’t want restart, I can access my computer programs and the internet, so that I can ask this question!

1. I need help to get rid of this message

2. I need help with my vpn connection, so that I can see the computers on the work network

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! I’m SO Stumped!

Since I can’t access my network at work, could you please email me at bernwafer@hotmail.com
