In need of a computer or laptop

I just started a two year program in computer networking and being a student I don’t have extra money from my temporary job to buy a computer. I was wondering if anyone could give me any leads as to where I can possibly get a computer either free or really really cheap.

I also would like a little advice on how to really get into networking, I am taking the courses but want to be ahead of the pack. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
