inetpub file

what is the inetpub file responsible for?. Virus software is picking up backdoor.sadmind.dr virus in the inetpub file on the C:\ drive and quarantining them,they are rendered unfixable.Could the virus be entering a sql “live” database which would answer the question of how is it getting through the firewall. and would this file be anything to do with this database.
