install firewire card

I am now trying to install my 4th firewire card and am having no luck.I have a Piv with Win xp and an Intel motherboard with 5 open PCI slots. I’ve tried the boards in all of the slots and when windows recognizes that there is a IEEE host adapter ther and tries to install it always comes back with the following message: “PROBLEM INSTALLING THIS HARDWARE. IEEE 1394 HOST CONTROLLER. AN ERROR OCCURRED DURING THE INTALLATION OF THE DEVICE. THE DATA IS INVALID.”
Can anyone help me with this.
