Install Updates and ShutDown not appearing

by quaquita . Updated 17 years, 4 months ago

Hi All,
I’m using Windows Server 2003 and am using WSUS to manage updates. I really would like everyone to install updates whenever they shut down, so that they have one less thing to do during the day but Windows won’t let me. All computers are Windows XP SP2 and despite enabling “Configure Automatic Updates”, choosing option 3, then disabling “Do not adjust default option to ‘Install Updates and Shut Down’ in Shut Down Windows dialog box” and disabling “Do not display “Install UPdates and Shut Down’ in Shut Down Windows dialog box”, the option STILL does not appear.

I’ve checked and they are configured correctly when I look at the local group policy settings.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Any help is much appreciated.
