Installing new hard drive

I have Netware 5.0 running on a Compaq 5500 Proliant Server. The Server has 9 – 18.2 gig ultra2 scsi drives. I want to add one more 18.2 gig drive as a spare. The new drive actually is not new. It came out of a Windows NT 4 server. There is data on the drive. Can I just put the drive in the Novell server without deleting or formating it?
