Intel Pentium II / CPU Fan Problem

I have an Eldorado 3 cpu fan, made by Silent Systems, that is broken. Once I removed the fan, the heatsink and a grey metal plate were attached to the processor. How do I remove the grey metal plate? It appears to be glued to the processor.

I am tempted to just pry it off but I thought it would be best to pose the question to those who may have an answer.

Is it okay to pry it off? Does anyone know how I can contact Silent Systems?
