Internal Domain users cannot access external resources

by p_h_7 . Updated 17 years, 5 months ago

Hi everyone,

I have a small windows 2003 AD domain setup with around 15 users called “example.com” runing on 1 server and providing all DNS,File server, DHCP and VPN services.

Unfortunately the domain is the same name as the external website. Webmail has been recently set up by our ISP and the website is now going to have a presence. The problem we have is that we cannot resolve the website internally and we cannot access any of the pop mail accounts internally. Our previous POP mail still works from our previous website and I can access the new example.com pop mail accounts from anywhere except internally.

Obviously this is due to the domain name being the same as the external domain so it is resolving example.com as a internal resource.

How can I get users able to see the website and access their pop mail from the same site internally?

Any help would be apprieciated.
