Internet and Broadcast TV on same link.

I am trying to investigate the possibility of having a satellite modem which service is bundled with saellite TV. This is how I have imagined it, that at the recieve end, you have a satellite modem with a LAN interface bringing in IP service and another interface on the same modem with a port which you can connect to a satellite TV decoder and the decoder to a TV to watch television programmings like that of DSTV. Do presently have a platform that can push these services through simutaneuosly? I know iDirect does something like that but I think I need some more explanation on how it actualy works.
