Internet Calling Cards?

I use a small local ISP that doesn’t have access #’s outside of my state. I travel a lot & need to use the internet via my laptop as I do. Can I use a calling card to dial up to the internet while away? I live in a very rural area so getting a bigger ISP that has more options for access #’s is almost impossible. What do you suggest?
