Internet connection sharing

by ameliapumo . Updated 22 years, 7 months ago

I have several PC’s connected to a network, with a win 2000 advanced server being used as server.

I also connect to the internet with a broadband connection through this server.

I want to use a old PC (4 years) with small hard drive (win 98) as the connection to broadband, then connect this to network hum, and tell Win 2000 server to share this internet access, ands all other PC’s on network access broadband connection via the server. Is this possible.

I am new to networking but have managed to set up the Win 2000 server and connect all the other PC’s to it, also sharing the broadband connection.

I am one of these people that has never been taught anything, but has a habit of staying up all night till I find out how to do something.

My reason for wanting to do this is because I can’t afford any new equiptment at the moment and want to have a PC that’s only purpose is to connect to the internet. If I had the money, I would buy a modem router or something like that, but not possible at moment.
