Internet Explorer

We have a program that calls up IE from a command line and opens it to display a JPG file. Every time that command runs, it opens up a new session of IE. Is there a parameter we can use so that it only opens up the same IE window and just change theJPG being displayed rather than opening up a new instance of IE?
