Internet Explorer Blue Screen of Death

A co-worker has problems with Internet Explorer and the Blue Screen Of Death. Randomly when clicking a link on a web page (using IE) it blue screens. He hits a key then the screen goes black (only the cursor arrow showing) and has to restart. I thought it may have something to do with the iwon.com co-pilot toolbar he has, but not sure… any ideas?
