Intersky Remote Gateway 384

Hello. I have an Intersky Remote Gateway 384. From the manual, the information rate is 16-384 KBPS. I have a 1MB dedicated connection to the internet. Can the RG384 handle the bandwidth? Is bandwidth being wasted here? How can I resolve this issue?
I would be grateful for any suggestions.
