Inventory Managment with bar-code scanner

Wish to set up inventory managment using bar code scanners (wireless) and Desktop Software,, Need some suggestions for a low cost solution. Inventory only… no Point of Sale needed. I like the Metrologic Voyager bar-code scanner to use for hardware.
