Is 10 half duplex good choice on switch

Our network admins have set all ports that are linked to a workstation to 10 half duplex at the switch. I have seen justification for the half duplex setting in some technet articles but have yet to find any support for putting a 10 MB constraint when all NIC’s are 10/100’s. Is there any valid justification for sticking to this setting. The bulk of the data transfer is from the server back to the workstation.
