Is it possible to restore Sharepoint site without backup?

by mkoskenk . Updated 13 years, 7 months ago

Hello,

we experienced a power outage that corrupted the virtual hard disk of one ouf our development servers. The virtual server is unable to boot to Windows anymore, and if I try to boot in safe mode, it BSODs after crcdisk.sys. I tried running the repair with Windows CD with no help.

I am, however, able to mount the .vhd file with Gizmo (http://arainia.com/software/gizmo/overview.php?nID=4) and browse the disk. Is it possible to recover the Sharepoint sites straight from the disk somehow?

We’re running WSS 3.0 on Windows server 2008.

+1 for backups even on dev servers :p

Thanks in advance 🙂
