Morning,
I have noticed (from 16 years in the training business), that e-learning and KM have slowly become the sole property of the IT Department. But enough generalizations.
Trade journals in the learning business (e.g., Training and Development, Chief Learning Officer, etc.) often claim the territory of KM, Communities of Practice (COPS) and emerging e-learning as a Human Resources venture. Yet the on-ground reality seems to be that the IT world has been flourishing just fine in the KM world without the help of those Liberal Arts types getting in the way with their wacky ideas about organizational learning.
Any room for a partnership? Or will KM develop with a split personality, depending on who’s leading the effort…?
