Is the new Microsoft Word feature to edit PDF files posing a risk?

With Office 2013, Microsoft has introduced a new feature called PDF Reflow which allows a user to open PDF documents in Microsoft Word and edit the contents and save it back as a PDF.

Is this feature not posing a risk to the integrity of PDF documents in organizations?

I’m interested to know how this is being looked at and what mitigating / compensating controls that organizations are looking at.
