iSCSI naming conventions for test environment

by tnelsonp . Updated 16 years, 11 months ago

I’m in the process of creating an iSCSI test environment and have some questions related naming the resources. It is going to be a small configuration with a limited number of resources hiding behind a firewall. IP addresses are going to be static and in the 192.168.1.xxx range. I am using the guide at http://www.howtoforge.com/iscsi_on_linux as my reference.

The standard calls for a domain name and date registered to be a part of the iqn.

I am wondering what naming conventions people use for testing when they do not have or do not want to use a registered domain name.

Thank you.
