I’m having issues getting any traffic to pass through the management vlan and a 48 port Cisco 2950 switch.
The management vlan is separate from the native vlan, whose interface has been shut down.
All other vlans seem to be passing traffic normally. CDP neighbor information, and VTP configuration information is passing and the users off of the switch are still able to access the network. Also, there is one VOIP phone off of the switch that is also working just fine.
I just cannot administer the switch remotely and our network monitoring software keeps showing that the switch is down.
I’ve consoled into the switch a couple of time and have done shut no shut on the management vlan interface and the trunk port. I even tried changing the interface IP address. I’ve cleared the ARP and reloaded the switch several times. I still cannot ping or telnet into the switch and the switch cannot ping or telnet into any other switches on the network.
I’m out of Ideas at this point. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
