According to Gartner, Microsoft is under increasing pressure from its customers to support Java in some fashion under the .NET multilanguage and Web services strategy. Since the Sun lawsuit settlement prevents future development of Microsoft Java-based products, Microsoft is offering two separate alternative Java strategies: Bringing a Java-like language to the .NET platform and migrating developers from Java to C#.
