job searching while working

I am interested in job hunting. I currently have a 8 to 5 network admin job.

Should I tell my current boss that I am going job hunting so that I can have time off during the day to go on interviews?

Or should I not break the news to my boss and tell him once I found one I like and give him 2 weeks notice?

Appreciate any other info!
