Keeping previous fields in new records of an Microsoft Access Form

Hey all,

i’m new to access and building form. I’ve created everything i wanted from scratch with combo boxes and queries but now i’d like to hold one field over for new records. I’ll be making multiple submissions for the same ID and would like to keep that constant until i change it.

Any suggestions or references of where i can find the information to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. I think it’ll be something with before.update but have not had any luck. Thank you
