keyboards?

I have an amibios that has stopped recognizing the regular keyboard. I have tried new keyboards, it seems to be that the connection on the motherboard is no longer in use.
I need to get into setup. is ther some way to make another type of keyboard,(usb or whatever) work in setup? Thank you
