I have a network Printer (Konica Minolta 350/250/200. It is set to be the default printer.Network PCs (win98SE and XP) can print to it without a problem. 2 XP PC will not print at all.Onn sending the job, either nothing happens or the printer responds with two weird beeps then stops with red lights on but won’t print.Other users have to wait for a while b4 they cant print again in such cases.
My server which runs samba runs Gentoo.and i have examined the smb.conf and it seems ok.I have even added a hp printer installed on one Win98 PC and all users can print on it.
reinstalling the drivers is diffcult as the printer does not appear on the list of available drivers.But i can ping the printer’s IP from these PCs successfully.
What could be the problem?
