I am experiencing some strange results on a small office LAN.
I can ping 127.0.0.1 successfully.
I can ping localhost successfully.
I can ping the IP address of my machine successfully.
I can ping the DHCP/DNS/Default Gateway using the IP address.
I can ping the DHCP/DNS/Default Gateway using its name on the network.
I can ping the primary WINS server using the IP address.
I can ping the WINS server using its name on the network.
I can ping every printer on the LAN.
I can ping several workstations on the LAN.
There are at least three workstations on the LAN that I CANNOT ping via both the IP address and their name on the network. All three machines are on, and have Internet access via the Default gateway.
Intel PRO/1000 MT Network with latest driver installed.
S/W Firewall disabled (Bitdefender AntiVirus Plus V10.)
Windows XP Professional Firewall enabled
Any ideas?
