Lap top with block spots on the screen

I dropped my Dell 6400-1505 and now it has black spots on the right side of the screen.
Thing of it is, as I use it they tend to go away. So, I’m thinking it can be fixed. Before I dig into it I would like some advice. Am I wasting my time?
