Laptop Issue Policy

I am currently looking to review the guidlines that the company I work for has in place for allocating a user to a laptop.

Factors we consider are the ammount of travel, business case.

However I am trying to review the criteria and wonder what policys other companies put in place when considering issuing laptops.
