Laptop touch pad

My laptop?s touch pad (mouse) is not function. It all started when i connected a projector to my laptop and all of sudden my system freezes. After restarting it, I realise that my touch pad(mouse) was not sensitive. My system is Windows Xp Sp3.

Pls, tell me if u think of any solution to this.
