laptops and printers for digital photographs in UK

Hi,
My wife wants to be able to edit her digital photographs away from my main PC and be able to independently print or write them to a CD/DVD. She is therefore looking for a suitable laptop and printer or a just printer that is capable of working indpendently of a PC and has a DVD/CD write as well as a card reader of course. She has a budget of ?600ish.
Any ideas please?
