LCD Compaq TFT1701 Monitor

The problem is asomething which looks like a tear in the screen. It is a small white blob that just wont go away. Was this caused by something being jabbed into the screen? I have never seen this before. Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
