I have a Cox cable connection. A friend of mine who has the same type of connection told me he recently set up a home network with a Linksys WAP11 wireless router. He used NAT to translate his “DHCP” acquired address from Cox to his PC’s.
I thought it was only possible to do this with a static address. He also said that, if he wanted to, he could install a hub or switch in port 1 and theoretically have about 250 addresses. (obviously that would not be wise)
He said he’d provide me with the configuration for the router once I purchase it but I’m still skeptical. Can anyone provide me with the code for the configuration as well as an explanation as to how this is possible? Assume I’d have 2 directly connected PC’s and 2 laptops connected via wireless NIC.
Thanks,
Dave
